Lindfield FC Committee
Meet the team who keep Lindfield FC ticking both on and off the pitch.
---
Brian Newcombe – Past President
It is with great regret we announce that Brian passed away in April 2013.
As a life member of LFC, Brian had been club president for over a decade, overseeing many changes.
He was often spotted on the touchline with the biggest umbrella in town.
A memorial bench was placed on the Common in 2014.
---
Jon Cunningham (JC) – Vice Chairman
"Big JC" is an absolute clubman who loves the Swans more than the rest of us.
A true LFC legend, he’s won countless trophies – from managing the Thirds to leading the Fronts through their most successful era.
Strengths: Buying sweets, putting up nets, knowing every player and team in Sussex
Weaknesses: Eating sweets, tactical genius, team talks
"Sometimes we score goals going up the hill and sometimes we score goals going down the hill." – JC, 2018
---
Rod Farley – Secretary
Rod joined LFC wearing black and brought two sons with him to the club.
He refereed regularly and now enforces admin rules with the same strict approach.
Rod usually knows about your yellow or red card before you do – and he’s invoiced you for it already.
He’s even been known to turn up at players' houses to collect fines.
More recently active in the scrap metal department of your local bin.
---
Martin Theobald (Theo) – Chairman
Theo juggles his Chairman duties with being Club Welfare Officer and Registrations & Fixtures Secretary.
He’s the life and soul of Lindfield FC, having played for years before injury struck.
In 2012/13, he led the underdog 2nds to Mowatt Cup glory.
Rumour has it he was a quiet lad until the 2003 club tour corrupted him…
---
Darren Baylis – Treasurer
Darren became Treasurer for the 2023/24 season.
A former player with the 3s, he’s now in charge of making sure the committee doesn’t blow the budget on handbags.
---
John Box – Past President
We sadly lost JB in November 2022.
A life member and club president from 2013 to 2022, he played a huge role in shaping the club.
He was ever-present at matches and AGMs and was known for his one-liners and club banter.
Boxy’s legacy lives on in the fabric of the club.
---
Graham Jauns – Vice President
Elected at the 2013/14 AGM, Jaunsy took on the Vice President role in his usual cool, relaxed style.
A long-serving LFC man, he’s managed teams and sponsored kits more than anyone in club history.
Now happily watching matches on the Common without the pressure of management — usually found near G Watson’s bar.
The Brian Clough of Lindfield.
