MATCH REPORT: LINDFIELD FC 1–0 SHOREHAM FC II

Lindfield FC8 Dec 2025 - 11:34

They brought a new team. We brought the same outcome.

Lindfield FC made it two wins from two against Shoreham FC II with a gritty, hard-earned 1–0 victory under the lights, sealed by a decisive finish from Ruari Farrell in the 75th minute.

This Shoreham side came into the game looking nothing like the team we faced last time. With only four returning players from their previous line-up, it was clear from the opening whistle that this was a different challenge altogether. They were stronger, fitter, sharper and far more organised.

The match was tight from the first minute. Shoreham pressed high, closed quickly, and didn’t make it easy for us to settle. The first half saw few clear chances, with both sides battling it out through midfield and defending well when needed.

The second half opened up with Lindfield starting to impose themselves. The link-up play improved, the tempo lifted, and the pressure began to show. Then came the breakthrough.

In the 75th minute, Ruari Farrell found the moment and didn’t waste it cool, composed, and clinical. One chance. One goal. One massive difference.

From there, it was about discipline, effort, and seeing the job through. Shoreham pushed, but Lindfield stood tall. The back line stayed solid, the midfield worked tirelessly, and the team showed real character to close the game out.

It wasn’t pretty football.
It was effective football.

And that’s what wins games.

Two fixtures.
Two wins.
Six points.
One clean sheet.

Shoreham FC II were a much improved side this time — and that makes this win even sweeter.

Up the Swans.
